Dr. Poon is currently the President of Quacell Biotech Ltd. He previously worked for Hisun Biopharm, Merck (SAFC), Roskamp Institute in USA. He completed his Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry at University of Kentucky, and MBA from University of South Florida. He has years of experience in the field of biological therapeutics, analytical research, bioinformatics and proteomics. He has more than 10 years of cell culture experience with focus on biopharmaceutical products. He published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles and contributes to more than 5 book chapters. He is currently the managing editor for biomedical and pharmacology journal ; associate Editor for Journal of Chemistry, Biochemistry; and Molecular Biology, Band Journal of Bioinformatics and Biometrics.

He has Years of Experience in the Field of Biochemistry. He is passionate about developing novel therapies for tropical diseases from natural products.

Maria Anita Mendes obtained her MSc degree in Analytical Chemistry in 1994 at the State University of Maringa. She also obtained her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry in 1999 at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), after benefiting from visiting fellowships at the Thomson Laboratory and Odense University Denmark with Dr. Frants Lauritsen. She has extensive experience in mass spectrometry with modern separation methods, coupled with mass spectrometric detection, and with biochemical methodology. She was a post-doctoral research fellow at UNICAMP (new technologies for mass spectrometry analysis) and at the Paulista State University in Rio Claro, SP, Brazil (mass spectrometry characterization of wasp venom peptides) working in the Laboratory of Structural Biology and Zoochemistry ( LSBZ). At the present time she is an Alcoa Foundation Fellow at the University of Sao Paulo (CEPEMA-USP) (Integrating Modern Analytical Methodologies into the Development of Sustainable Technologies) Dr. Mendes has published more than 45 papers and is the co-author of three patents, two of which received the "Governor of the State of Sao Paulo" Patent Award.

Dr. Joanne Connolly is a Mass Spectrometrist with over 20 years experience covering a wide variety of instrument platforms. She has a comprehensive background in nano LC-MS/MS, specializing in qualitative/quantitative multiOMICS and imaging platforms. She has a desire to help advance scientific research by helping people to understand, investigate and adopt new technologies. Joanne completed a PhD in Mass Spectrometry at UMIST in Manchester in 2002, followed by a post-doctoral position at the National Institutes of Health, USA. Joanne joined Waters Corporation in 2007 where she managed the European proteomics applications team before moving to her current role as OMICS business development manager for the northern European region.

After obtaining PhD from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (ranked 17th in Engineering among the universities worldwide), he conducted research with Australian universities, as a postdoctoral research fellow at Monash and Deakin Universities, and as a senior research fellow at the University of Melbourne. He has 230 journal papers and 5 patents in this area. His current research is focused on characterization of biological systems, including diagnostic and classification modelling of cancer molecular pathology, host response to disease and identification of molecular targets for therapy.

Biography :

Henry M. Sobell completed his studies at Brooklyn Technical High School (19481952), Columbia College (1952-1956), and the University of Virginia School of Medicine (1956-1960). Instead of practicing clinical medicine, he then went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to join Professor Alexander Rich in the Department of Biology (1960-1965), where, as a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow, he learned the technique of single crystal X-ray analysis. He then joined the Chemistry Department at the University of Rochester, having been subsequently jointly appointed to both the Chemistry and Molecular Biophysics departments (the latter at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry), becoming a full tenured Professor in both departments (1965-1993). He is now retired and living in the Adirondacks in New York, USA.

Cancellation, Postponement, and Transfer of Registration

All cancellations or modifications of registration must be made in writing to Program Manager (

Cancellation Policy

If Allied academies cancel this event for any reason, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another Allied Academies Conferences (AAC) event which must occur within one year from the date of cancellation.


If Allied academies postpone an event for any reason and you are unable or unwilling to attend on rescheduled dates, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another Allied Academies Conferences event which must occur within one year from the date of postponement.

Transfer of registration

All fully paid registrations are transferable to other persons from the same organization if registered person is unable to attend the event. Transfers must be made by the registered person in writing to Program ManagerDetails must be included with the full name of replacement person, their title, contact phone number and email address. All other registration details will be assigned to the new person unless otherwise specified.

Registration can be transferred to one conference to another conference of Allied academies if the person is unable to attend one of the conferences.

However, Registration cannot be transferred if it is intimated within 14 days of the respective conference.

The transferred registrations will not be eligible for Refund.

Visa Information

Keeping in view of increased security measures, we would like to request all the participants to apply for Visa as soon as possible.

Allied Academies will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants. All delegates or invitees should apply for Business Visa only.

Important note for failed visa applications: Visa issues cannot come under the consideration of cancellation policy of Allied Academies, including the inability to obtain a visa.

Refund Policy:

If the registrant is unable to attend and is not in a position to transfer his/her participation to another person or event, then the following refund arrangements apply:

Keeping in view of advance payments towards Venue, Printing, Shipping, Hotels and other overheads, we had to keep Refund Policy is as following slabs-

  • Before 60 days of the conference: Eligible for Full Refund less $100 Service Fee
  • Within 60-30 days of Conference: Eligible for 50% of payment Refund
  • Within 30 days of Conference: Not eligible for Refund
  • E-Poster Payments will not be refunded.

Accommodation Cancellation Policy:

Accommodation Providers (Hotels) have their own cancellation policies, and they generally apply when cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to arrival.
